$200 in ads → 1,000+ leads · about $40,000 a month in revenue · 10,000+ Telegram subscribers
“When sales aren't hitting the plan, when certain numbers come up short, we use smart broadcasting: we send out to the database, and we get a strong response. After that, sales go up.”Alfiya Sabitova, CEO of the online school
THE BUSINESS
The International University of the Quran is an online school for women that teaches Quran reading in Arabic, trains teachers and runs educational marathons. The audience: Russian-speaking women in Europe (Germany, Turkey, France and other countries). Payments are accepted in foreign currency. A team of sales managers handles the deals. The school has been using Leeloo.ai for about two years.
BEFORE LEELOO
Before Leeloo.ai the school ran on several services, and the main goal was to get everything in one place: integrations between services kept breaking. Reminders failed to fire before webinars. They were looking for a platform with a CRM that works in messengers rather than email. Alfiya herself was afraid of paid targeting and never expected to run it.
WHAT WAS BUILT
The school set the platform up on its own, with help from support and the step-by-step guides: the speed of support replies was the deciding factor in switching. They bought the platform for five years and received training as a gift. The scheme: warm traffic flows from Instagram into Telegram. For a new product they launch a webinar funnel and paid ads, then keep warming up the accumulated base. Managers work in one window with messages and customer cards filled in detail. A smart broadcast to a filtered base is switched on whenever the sales team falls short of plan. After the workshop Alfiya set up the targeting herself, following the checklist.
THE RESULTS
The first ad campaign for a new marathon aimed at Russian speakers in Europe cost about $200 and, according to Alfiya, brought more than a thousand leads, possibly up to two thousand. The media buyer was surprised by the result on such a budget. In two years the base grew past 10,000 subscribers, currently in Telegram only. People who came from a single ad run last year are still studying and buying new products. Broadcasts were cut to twice a month and the texts shortened: response and sales went up. The school's monthly revenue, by Alfiya's estimate, is about $40,000.
